Dr. Fred Ohles, President of ¾«¶«´«Ã½, awarded degrees to approximately 500 undergraduate and graduate students during ¾«¶«´«Ã½â€™s 124th annual commencement held Saturday, May 18.
Three years ago a group of ¾«¶«´«Ã½ students traveled to Guatemala where they helped the organization Constru Casa build a house for an impoverished family.
¾«¶«´«Ã½ history professor Meghan Winchell has been awarded the White Award for Internationalization.
The award, honoring President John and Marty White for their many years of service to ¾«¶«´«Ã½, recognizes individuals who have furthered the internationalization of the campus, its curriculum, its students and faculty.
It took ¾«¶«´«Ã½ senior art major Jaime Crist approximately 12 hours to poke them all into a four-foot by 16-foot corkboard that would hang on the Elder Gallery wall, showcasing her artistic talents at the Senior Art Exhibit.
The political science major from Lincoln will go to Georgia thanks to a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. He is one of over 700 undergraduates from across the country selected to receive the prestigious award sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.
