Criteria

Nebraska Wesleyan admits undergraduate international students based on:

• the strength of their academic transcripts
• a minimum of a high school diploma/certificate of completion
• a minimum English proficiency exam score, when English is not the student’s primary language
• documentation of finances for I-20 eligibillity

Application deadline

• July 1 for Fall Semester
• October 1 for Spring Semester

Admissions Requirements

First-year student requirements

• Complete the free online application.
• Submit the Financial Verification form for International Students. This form will be available on your ¾«¶«´«Ã½ Admissions Portal after you submit your application for enrollment at ¾«¶«´«Ã½.
• Provide scans of high school diploma, transcript or certificate of completion.
• Provide scores from one of the following English language tests, when English is not the student’s primary language:
  
  
  Minimum score: 100
  The Duolingo English Test is an online English proficiency test that can be taken online, on-demand, in under an hour. The test is taken via a computer with a camera and includes a proficiency score, video interview and writing sample which are shared with ¾«¶«´«Ã½ when you send your results. Certified results are available within 48 hours of the test session.
  
  International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
  Minimum Score: 5.5
  
  PTE Academic: Computer-based English test
  Minimum score: 50
  PTE Academic measures your English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in a single, short test.
  
  Society of Testing English Proficiency (STEP) Eiken
  Minimum Score: Pre-1 Level
  (Optional) International students eligible for ¾«¶«´«Ã½ scholarships based on SAT scores should forward those scores to the Admissions Office if they wish to be considered.
  
  Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

  Minimum score: Paper test – 525; Internet test – 71

Transfer student requirements

• Complete the free online application.
• Submit the Financial Verification form for International Students. This form will be available on your ¾«¶«´«Ã½ Admissions Portal after you submit your application for enrollment at ¾«¶«´«Ã½.
• Provide scans of high school diploma, transcript or certificate of completion.
• Provide official transcripts from any U.S. college or university attended.
• Provide transcript evaluation for any international institution attended. Use this  designed for ¾«¶«´«Ã½ applicants that offers a discount and quick electronic delivery. Students can also provide credential evaluations from other companies—check with your ¾«¶«´«Ã½ admissions counselor with questions about credential evaluation.
• Provide scores from one of the following English language tests, when English is not the student’s primary language (Note: This requirement is waived if applicants complete English coursework at a U.S. college or university):

Exchange student requirements

Visit the study abroad office at your current institution for more information. Exchange students do not need to complete the ¾«¶«´«Ã½ application.

Graduate student requirements

¾«¶«´«Ã½ is approved to offer admission to our Master of Social Work or Master of Athletic Training programs. Interested students should to get started.

Post-Admission and Enrollment Requirements and Information

Once accepted to ¾«¶«´«Ã½, students must take additional steps to secure their enrollment and apply for their visa or transfer a valid existing visa.

• Submit a nonrefundable $350 U.S. deposit, which is applied to their first year tuition. Deposits can be paid online using a credit card or US checking account, or can be wired using the following information

• Provide scans of your current passport, and US visa (if applicable).
• The Office of Global Engagement will issue an I-20 form after the deposit and financial documents are received. Additional information about course registration, housing placements and orientation will be communicated.
• To facilitate their cultural and linguistic adjustment, international students live in our residence halls. All students are required to live in campus housing.
• International students are required to pay tuition, fees, housing and food prior to the beginning of each semester.
• International students are required to be continuously enrolled in a health insurance plan.
